I feel Britney Spears paparazzi pain: Jennifer Lopez
Wednesday, September 26th, 2007Superstar Jennifer Lopez says she understands the intense media pressure Britney Spears in going through.
The singer told Access Hollywood that she finds media scrutiny “very very difficult.”
“If I am going to the gym, I’ll make sure they don’t get a picture.”
“If they’re gonna hang out outside my house all day, they’re not gonna make any money. They’re gonna have to go down the road to somebody else’s house,” she said.
Lopez is still haunted by the paparazzi frenzy that surrounded her relationship with movie star Ben Affleck.
Now in her three-year marriage to singer Marc Anthony, the star says her husband has helped her learn how to put a stop to “feeding” the media.
“Actually, he helped me with how to do that and you don’t entertain it,” Lopez said.
“You don’t play that game. You don’t feed the beast,” Marc Anthony told Access Hollywood.
Anthony said the intense media pressure that Britney is facing “feels disgusting.”
“You feel like a prey. You feel like a slab of meat.”
The singer went on to say the photographers have an elaborate network of spies.
“This whole network of walkie-talkies and blocking streets. Unbelievable!” he said.
The happily married couple will be embarking on their upcoming En Concierto tour, starting in Atlantic City on Saturday.
Judge Orders New Custody Restrictions on Britney Spears
Tuesday, September 25th, 2007Britney Spears and Kevin Federline’s custody battle was back in court again Monday afternoon.
Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan, and Spears’ attorney Sorrell Trope, met behind closed doors in an L.A. court to “refine certain areas” of the judge’s order last week that requires Spears to submit to random, twice-weekly drug and alcohol testing and to undergo parenting classes, the Associated Press reports.
Trope confirms to Usmagazine.com that judge Scott Gordon has signed the order putting the new custody-related restrictions in place. Trope did not say when the testing would go into effect.
Today’s hearing comes on the heels of Friday’s filing of misdemeanor hit-and-run charges against Spears by the L.A. city attorney.
Kaplan told the AP that he does not expect the filing of the misdemeanor charges last week to impact the scheduled November 26 hearing on Federline’s request to increase his custody time with the former couple’s two young sons. They currently split fifty-fifty custody of sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1.
Elton John offers to help Britney Spears overcome problems
Tuesday, September 25th, 2007Elton John thinks he has what it takes to help troubled singer Britney Spears leave her bizarre behavior behind and turn her life around. Elton has overcome addictions himself and has helped others including Robbie Williams. He also offered Amy Winehouse the use of his mansion after she overdosed on drugs recently.
Sources say Elton offer Spears a private place to stay while overcoming her problems and addictions. “He has decided enough is enough and reckons he has plenty of experience in the business to help her,” a source says of Elton. “He feels sorry for her because she had fame at such a young age and hasn’t handled it well.”
A judge ruled that Spears was a habitual user if alcohol and controlled substances and ordered her to undergo random drug test. The judge also required Spears to meet with a parenting coach in order to help her be a better mother to her two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline. This is the latest ruling in the pair’s ongoing custody dispute over their sons. Another hearing has reportedly been set for November.
Britney Spears Goes Back To Brunette
Tuesday, September 25th, 2007Britney Spears is back in Los Angeles after taking a weekend trip to Atlanta. The Gimme More singer, who flew into Van Nuys Airport on Monday with Alli and London by her side, decided to rid her blonde locks and flip back to brunette.
Meanwhile, Britney’s former bodyguard is soaking up his two minutes of fame by engaging in a press tour focused on the Toxic singer’s drug and parenting problems.
After interviewing with British tabloid News Of The World, Brit’s ex staffer Tony Barretto took his story to the “Today” show on Monday, revealing that he caught her abusing drugs on two separate occasions, with one taking place in a restaurant commode.
Barretto said, “It was secured for her and she was in there for some time alone, and I was waiting for her outside the door. I thought it would be appropriate to check on her and I knocked and peaked in and I observed this behavior.”
Tony also claimed to have been asked to hold up a “curtain” so Britney could get in a quick fix. Describing the instance, he alleged, “At one point it was getting kinda hard to continue to hold the curtain for such a long period of time. I (took a) look over to get her approval to let go of the curtain, at which point I noticed what she was doing.”
Britney Spears declared mother of the year
Tuesday, September 25th, 2007In a victory bound to take the troubled singer’s mind off her custody battle, Britney Spears has been crowned Mother Of The Year after a nationwide search. The competition spanned a variety of criteria, including community involvement, life/work balance and erratic behaviour. “No matter how many nominees we looked at, Britney’s name came up again and again,” said judge Julia Burris. “It’s just a shame she was too drunk to come to the awards ceremony.”
“Each new revelation from her ex-bodyguards and assistants shows what a balanced person and wonderful mother Britney is,” said Burris. “Every child dreams of a parent who takes care to hire an appropriate nanny to look after them while she goes out clubbing with no knickers on.”
According to a story leaked exclusively to NW, Famous and New Idea, Spears celebrated her win by stripping naked in front of her housekeeper, taking an unspecified number of drugs and quietly sobbing while devouring a entire suckling pig. “I’ve never been so happy,” she reportedly said, before drink-driving with her sons on her lap.

The announcement has come as a blow to Britney’s ex Kevin Federline, who is attempting to take legal custody of the children. “When I saw Britney’s performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, I thought I had this thing in the bag,” he said. “Obviously I’d forgotten what an immoral, mooching deadshit I am.”
Spears’ excellent parenting has sparked waves of jealousy among the local schoolyards. “Jayden and Sean Preston are so lucky,” said eight-year-old Tommy Pearson. “Their mummy sings to them, and buys them cool clothes, and shows them what a nervous breakdown looks like close-up.”
Britney’s own mother, Lynne Bridges, picked up second prize in the contest.
Britney Spears Hit With Two Driving Charges
Tuesday, September 25th, 2007After former somewhat respectable pop star Britney Spears crashed headlines with a stellar MTV Video Music Awards performance earlier this month, she’s making news about another crash… this time into a car.
Spears was charged Friday with a misdemeanour hit and run that caused property damage and driving without a valid license.
The pop burnout hit a parked car on Aug. 6 in California’s San Fernando Valley and took off without leaving a note for the other driver or filing a report, according to the Los Angeles city attorney’s office.
Viewers can watch the events online in a widely circulated video.
“Uh-oh, I’m a brainiac,” Spears tells a paparazzi scrum in the clip. “Sorry about that, what do I do?”
The singer is then seen getting out of her black convertible and asking, “Did I hurt my car?”
After a brief examination of her vehicle, and not the white station wagon that she hit, Spears decides, “It’s not bad,” before she leaves the scene.
According to the California Vehicle Code, drivers must locate the owner of damaged property or leave their information for the victim and contact local law enforcement officials.
The North Hollywood division of the L.A. police department received a formal complaint from the victim on Aug. 9. And then the Department Of Motor Vehicles discovered that there was no record of issuing a California driver’s license to Spears.
No, you’re not hallucinating. Yes, you have seen her driving around southern California in countless photographs.
Spears faces a maximum of six months in jail and/or a $1,000 U.S. fine for each count. Her arraignment is set for Oct. 10
Britney’s former bodyguard tells of drug overdose, lax parenting skills
Tuesday, September 25th, 2007Britney Spears’ former bodyguard feared she would die from a drug overdose after finding her completely “out of it” in a hotel room.
Tony Barretto, who submitted a signed statement about the singer’s behaviour to a Los Angeles court last week, has spoken out about Britney’s drug and alcohol problems for the sake of her sons, Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one.
Barretto, who was hired shortly after Britney left rehab in March, claims the Toxic singer went on a date with Howie Day on May 2 in Los Angeles just hours before her comeback show in Anaheim and hysterically phoned her security team hours later saying Day wouldn’t let her leave their hotel room.
Barretto told Britain’s News of the World newspaper: “I gave evidence because Britney is out of control and needs help. I have done this for her children. She has mental problems and drug and alcohol issues. Her home is no place for her kids to be raised.
“We told Britney that Howie was trouble. When Britney phoned us from the Mondrian Hotel, we knew we had to get to her fast.
“Britney was completely out of it. We thought she’d overdosed. Her skin was all waxy. We thought she was going to die.
“The hotel room was littered with empty beer bottles and liquor bottles and cigarette butts. I could see mounds of white powder and a straw, I suspected it was cocaine or methamphetamines. I spotted a glass pipe, which is often used with crystal meth.”
The bodyguard also slammed Britney’s parenting skills, saying she “scares” her sons and once almost crashed her car when she was with them.
Barretto said: “Britney loves her kids but she is a fickle mom. When the kids are happy, she is happy. When they are crying or unwell, she isn’t sure what to do. She speaks to them in a weird baby language, but all it does is scare and unsettle them.
“She nearly wrote the car off with them inside once. We followed her but she was driving like a lunatic on the wrong side of the road. It was terrifying.”
Barretto, who was fired in May because he didn’t hear Britney asking him to pick up her hat, claims the 25-year-old parades around naked to “embarrass” people and felt “suicidal” before shaving her head.
He said: “I’ve seen her suicidal before, it was just before she shaved her hair. She clearly regretted doing it. She had outbursts of crying over it.”
Britney is currently fighting her ex-husband Kevin Federline for custody of their two boys.
I worried Britney Spears would drown sons, says former bodyguard
Tuesday, September 25th, 2007Further his claims that Britney Spears frequently takes drugs including around her children, her former bodyguard Tony Barretto has now said he is worried that she will hurt the two baby boys.
Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, Tony explained that he was surprised at how much of the security role included looking after Sean and Jayden, who turned 2 and 1 respectively earlier this month.
Tony told the newspaper: “She was always passing the kids along to us. If they were happy, she was happy. If they weren’t happy, she was passing them on to the nanny or the security staff.
“We were the only family around her. She’d call a doctor to come out if they cried too much. She’d say: ‘Can you grab the baby, honey?’ She always called me ‘baby’ or ‘honey’. I don’t think she ever learned my name.”
“She’d tell me, ‘We’re going for a tan. Can you take the baby?’ And then she’d walk off. She wouldn’t really ask me; she’d just leave.”
But perhaps that was for the best: “There was a time when I thought she was going to hurt the kids. She sent the nanny home. She sent her best friend and personal assistant, Alli Sims, home. Britney hates to be alone, so this was worrying.”
“One of the bodyguards who had been with her longest said she was beginning to shut down as she had just before she shaved her head. He said she’d been talking about suicide then, and this was the same. Britney was sobbing. She screamed.”
Tony recalls that his colleague then told him: “I’m worried about the kids. Don’t let her go swimming with them.”
“Shocked, I asked, ‘Is she going to drown them?’ He said, ‘I don’t know.’ I started to cry. How am I supposed to protect someone like that?”
“She’s unpredictable. No one knows what she’ll do next. That’s what scared me. I don’t know what caused her screaming, whether it was drugs or mental instability. She’d be wailing, making no sense.”
“It was worse at night. She’d scream and guards would run to check on her, just in case it was a snake or an intruder. I’d ask how she was, and she’d say, ‘I’m OK.’ Sometimes the baby was in the room when she screamed, and the guards would grab him.”
“We had a security room beside the main house, with a couch and TV, and she’d frequently bring the kids in there to hang out with us. We’d say, ‘We’re not bodyguarding; we’re babysitting.’ But we were babysitting Britney, as well as her kids.”
“There were times when she spent very little time with them, some days less than an hour. And she’s not very good at knowing whether they eat or need changing. I don’t think I ever saw her feed her kids at home. Once she took the kids to the dance studio and didn’t bring any food for them. She sent someone out to get them soup and crackers.”
“In my opinion, it was a child taking care of children. I wouldn’t have her as a babysitter. The harder it was to comfort them, the likelier we’d end up with the children. She had a low attention span. She’d become bored with anything.”
Tony, who worked for Britney for two months earlier this year, added that he doesn’t think she’s beyond redemption: “I think she has a mental problem. I think and I pray she can be helped. I’m an optimist.”
“She needs her family back, someone who loves her. She needs to be loved and guided in the right direction. She’s immature. She has been babied so much, she doesn’t accept responsibility because she’s had everything so easy.”
“I think perhaps she’s scared. She likes to think she’s invincible - ‘I’m Britney, bitch! I can do what I want!’ - but that could be a façade. She cares about her career, but she has a problem that she can’t control.”
Lawyers meet in Britney Spears’ custody dispute
Tuesday, September 25th, 2007LOS ANGELES (AP) — Attorneys for Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were back in court Monday in an ongoing custody dispute involving the pair’s children.
Federline’s lawyer, Mark V. Kaplan, said the unscheduled court session was called to “refine certain areas” of a judge’s previous order in the case. He would not elaborate.
Spears’ attorney, Sorrell Trope, confirmed in a telephone interview that the hearing involved issues related to the custody case. He declined to comment further.
The court hearing came days after city prosecutors charged Spears with misdemeanor counts of hit-and-run and driving without a valid license, claiming she smashed her car into another in a parking lot in August.
Kaplan said he does not expect the filing of the misdemeanor charges last week to have any impact on the upcoming hearing dates on Federline’s request to increase his custody time with the former couple’s two young sons. They divide time with the children equally.

The first hearing date is Nov. 26, but the second date has been delayed from Dec. 18 to early January, Kaplan said.
Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon, who held Monday’s in-chambers session with the lawyers, is presiding over the custody dispute. He issued orders last week directing Spears to undergo random testing twice a week after finding she is involved in “habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol.”
If convicted on the driving changes, Spears could face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine for each count. Authorities said the accident occurred Aug. 6, when she was filmed by paparazzi steering her car into another vehicle as she tried to turn into a spot in a parking lot. Spears was scheduled to be arraigned in that case Oct. 10, but she is not required to appear.
Spears, 25, and ex-husband Federline, 29, are the parents of Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1
